L'Oreal Colorista Indigo Review

This week I will be reviewing L'Oreal Colorista. This is one of the very few hair dyes I have never used before, so I was slightly worried that it wouldn't agree with my hair as I have weird hair so certain dyes don't take.

Colorista has so many colours to chose from and if I had tried it a few weeks ago I definitely wouldn't have chosen Indigo, but since I am obsessed with blue hair at the moment I saw this colour in the shop and fell in love!
The instructions say to put the dye on hair that has just been shampooed and dried, which I found weird as most dyes instruct you to put it on dirty hair or wet hair. The dye itself goes on really nicely and the consistency is great as it's not to runny. The only problem I found was that once you put the dye on it doesn't look like it's covering. I ended up using way too much since it looked like it wasn't taking and I could see my old hair colour coming through.

I left the dye on for around 45 minutes since I wanted to make sure it really took and I usually leave hair dye on much longer than it suggests. My hair was so soft when I washed the dye out, which is weird since my hair is usually dry after dying my hair. Whenever I dye or wash my hair I use argan oil and heat protection spray before I dry my hair, but I didn't have any at the time. My hair has never been this soft after dying it, so that is a surprising bonus from this dye.

The dye took really well to my hair and looks amazing. It's more purple than it is blue but as you can see it looks purple in some light and blue in others. My hair feels really soft and the colour is beautiful. At the moment, before I've washed it, I think this dye is great, in some lights the colour looks exactly the same as it does on the box and the purple colour is lovely. I've had purple hair before and I hated how I looked because purple hair doesn't usually suit me.

I only dyed my hair yesterday, so I will post an update after the first wash and then again after a few washes, but for now, I love this dye and think it is definitley worth the money!

I would like to thank my amazing cousin for helping me dye my hair!
