Adore Baby Blue Review

My first review will be on the most recent hair dye I have used and that is the Adore hair dye in Baby Blue.

Before dying my hair blue I did my research on what dyes were best and found the Adore hair dye. I had recently seen it in my local hair dye shop and had never heard of it before. From the reviews I found, most people thought the dye was really good and lasted a long time. Here is my opinion on this brand.

The bottles are quite small but the dye itself is very runny so you don't need to use much to cover your hair. I bought 2 bottles just to be safe, but only used 3/4 of one. Due to this dye being very runny, it gets everywhere! Luckily I put down towels so there wasn't too much mess. The directions on the bottle say to put the dye on wet hair and that's what I did. A little warning, DO NOT put this dye on dry hair. When my hair started fading I dyed my hair again and put it on dry hair, this made my hair feel so dead and dry, once it was washed out and I had conditioned my hair it didn't feel as bad. My hair felt quite dry after I dyed my hair the first time but with some conditioning treatment it started to feel slightly better, but when I dyed it with my hair dry, my hair felt very dry and started to break off.

This is how it turned out, I took this picture the night I dyed my hair. As you can see the colour is very bright and a really nice blue. It was a bit darker than I thought it would be but I have no patchy spots and the dye covered my previous faded pink hair really well.

The first image was 3 days after I dyed my hair, I had washed it once and the ends faded quite a bit but most of the colour stayed the same. The second image is 2 weeks after I dyed my hair. I wash my hair about 2-3 times a week because I hate having dirty hair and my hair gets greasy real fast, so i had washed my hair quite a few times at this point. Since I had plenty of dye left I mixed it in with some conditioner and used that almost every time I washed my hair. I also went over it and dyed it again about a week after I first dyed it as the colour had faded quite a bit. The dye faded more on the ends of my hair than it did on my roots, but it looked like an ombre effect and I loved it!

This is my hair now. It's been about 3 and a half weeks and I haven't used the mix of dye and conditioner for about a week. The ends look almost silver in natural lighting and the top has faded to a really nice pastel blue colour.

PROS:
- Colour fades to a really nice pastel blue.
- The dye covers hair really well.
- You only need 1 bottle for shoulder length hair.
- The colour comes out very close to the picture on the bottle.

CONS:
- The dye fades quickly and doesn't last long.
- The dye itself is very messy and it drips everywhere.
- It drys your hair and isn't as conditioning as other dyes.

Overall, this is a decent hair dye. Since I had plenty spare, I could re dye my hair using what was left in the first bottle I bought. Some hair dyes fade to a horrible greeny colour but this fades to more of a pastel shade. The only problem I have is that it fades very quickly and if I didn't have any left then I wouldn't have been able to dye it over and over again without buying more. I wish this dye was more conditioning and even adding conditioner to the dye doesn't help your hair.

Hope this helps! Sorry it was so long, I'm still getting used to this blogging thing.
