Schwarzkopf & Colorista Review
So I've dyed my hair again. This time I thought I would try something different. I bought Schwarzkopf in Electric Blue as well as my new favorite Indigo by L'Oreal Colorista. I started putting the Schwarzkopf on the roots and half way down my hair and then the Colorista on the rest. However, this did not work out the way I hoped.
I've used Schwarzkopf many times before, I dyed the tips of my hair with this blue a couple of times and it turned out okay (If I'm remembering correctly, it was a while ago.) This time it did not work. The dye is so thick that I found it really difficult to apply it on even the smallest sections of hair. I wanted to put it on to just above my ear, and then the indigo on the rest, but only had enough for my roots and just below. I mixed in a little conditioner to make it easier to apply but that did not help at all. There was so little dye in the box so, as well as the thickness, it was very hard to apply and I ran out.
I don't need to explain how the Colorista works on my hair, I've recently done 3 posts on the hair dye and how it fades and as I mentioned, is now my new favorite hair dye. If you would like to read my review of the hair dye, then click here.
Below are the pictures of my hair in natural light and the light in my room. The colour looks much darker than it did before, so I think the electric blue has taken to some parts of my hair, but it could be due to the time I left it on.
I left the hair dye on longer than I usually do. I had a problem with my boiler and it took me an hour to figure out that we hadn't just ran out of hot water and then another 30-45 minutes to fix the boiler so I could then, comfortably, wash the colour out. The Colorista was easy to wash out after leaving it on so long and my hair still felt soft after washing it. The Schwarzkopf was very hard to wash out. After leaving it so long it had become hard and had really clung to my hair, so it took shampoo to completely wash out the dye.
Overall, once again, I highly recommend L'Oreal Colorista as it is a really nice dye and leaves hair so soft. I do not recommend Schwarzkopf. I have previously tried the Raspberry Rebel, Pillar Box Red and Shocking Pink and all of these colours have faded after a couple washes and been really difficult to apply. I may try the turquoise at some point, but until then, I'm not a fan.
I will keep you updated on how the dyes wash out and how they look. Until then, if anyone has any hair dyes to recommend leave a comment! I would love to try something new!
